Rae.

So Rae has gone, as a few people will know.

Her breeder told us she was very well socialised with small dogs, turns out she wasn't.
There was no aggression on her part, she just could not understand the need for her to play gently and the girls became very frightened of her, which resulted in them refusing to eat, which, as anyone with chihuahuas knows, is extremely dangerous because of their small size and heightened metabolisms.

We're all devastated at her leaving, she was a very sweet girl who only wanted to play and we wish she could've fitted into our pack better, but Buffy, Rafferty, Monroe and Lily had to come first and we had to do what was right for all of them.
They couldn't be afraid in their own home and she couldn't be rejected or shut away because of it.

Here are the few pictures we took of our beautiful Rae in her short time with us;

 And again...
 Such a beautiful girl.

Inquisitive Rae.

As you can see, her time with us was precious and will stay in our hearts forever.

She is back at her breeders place and he will rehome her accordingly.
We know she'll be much loved and appreiciated wherever she goes, she's too nice of a pup to not be.

Rae, we wish you well and miss you an incredible amount, you were such a love bun. ♥

Rae 'Woof' Hilton!

From our last post you (should) know the story of 'Skye'. Now it's time to divulge the next chapter ;)

Last night we were mooching around various sites, when we noticed a new ad, but it stuck out to us as the ad was based in our village... Literally down the road!
So out of curiosity we rang up and asked for some pictures.
Bam, in love!

We went to see the litter earlier and 1 puppy really stood out for us, by a mile...

We paid our deposit earlier today and will be picking her up January 3rd!

So, introducing Rae 'Woof' Hilton;

 Rae (7 weeks)
 Rae 'behind bars' ;D
 Rae with her sister 'Arrow' and other siblings :)

So what dya reckon Blogger?

We're all in love and maybe 'Skye' did fall through for a reason, as everyone kept telling us!

Just goes to show you shouldn't give up

Bye bye Skye :(

We posted only days ago the first picture of our new addition, 'Skye' the Staffy.

We're sad to say that thanks to her 'breeder' (and we use that term loosely) that as of Christmas Eve, she will not be joining us after all.

Usually it's the breeder who gets messed around and has to deal with time wasters, this time it was us who had the misfortune of dealing with that.

Our search will continue, we're not being put off by one bad breeder!

Everyone keeps saying it's happened for a reason, so we're hoping that's true...

We'll update as soon as we have news :)

Love & licks,
Rio, Jonny, Buffy, Rafferty, Monroe and Lily.

A Beagle, a Staffy and a Chihuahua walk into a bar...

Ouch!

Moving on...
You may remember a while ago I did a post that mentioned the addition of 2 new Hilton doggies in early/mid 2011...
(See this post for a reminder)

Well we gave you a hint at names (although 'Kimba' has now been reserved for the future, in a year or two perhaps, for a different breed) and now we're prepared to share our choices of breeds!
Yes, breeds, plural ;)

At the grand old age of 21, Jonny is finally getting his 'own' dog (the girls are our dogs, but lean a little more towards being mine if I'm honest) so he will be getting a Beagle!

He first fell in love with the breed after I showed him a film called 'Shiloh' and of course the childhood classic 'Cats vs Dogs'.

After months and months of research and deliberation we've decided he will have one, as his 21st birthday present from myself :)
This will be 'Cinder'.

Around the same time, I will be looking to bring a second puppy into our hearts and our home, in the form of a Staffordshire Bull Terrier!
I knew a few Staffies growing up and they hold a place in my heart with their chunky build, 'nanny dog' ways and cheeky personalities :)

We're throwing a few names around for my (our, no doubt) Staffy and closer to the time we'll probably do a poll to get some opinions, but at the minute our list consists of;
Harley, Kizzy, Gypsy, Skye, Kinver, Bronx and Cali.

Both will of course be female, 'Cinder' will be a tri colour Beagle (not so fond on the lemon and white variety) and our Staffy, well, we're leaning towards a black one but time will tell and personality rules all for us ;)

That's all we have to say for ourselves for now, so until we next post...
Love & licks,
Rio, Jonny, Buffy, Rafferty, Monroe and Lily!
